Hex cap screws are bolts with hexagonal heads and machine threads for use with a nut or in a tapped hole. These screws are bolts with a washer face under the head. Use these coarse partially threaded screws anywhere a hex bolt may be used. Tighten with a wrench or a drill. Hex cap screws can be used when looking for outdoor applications or a stronger bolt. The name “hex cap screw” and “hex bolt” are commonly interchanged.
- An alternative for using them without nuts is to install them directly into a compatible internally threaded hole
- A hex cap screw is actually manufactured with tighter tolerances and can be used anywhere a hex bolt is used
- Thread type: coarse
- Stainless steel
